Q: What makes RWV different from other storage facilities?
A: We believe that Rutherford Wine Vault is one of the most unique private wine storage solutions in the wine world. We are situated in the middle of the famed “Rutherford Bench”, with sweeping views over the historic Georges de Latour vineyard in the heart of California's Napa Valley.
Q: Is the vault temperature controlled?
A: Each cellar is professionally temperature controlled at 53-57°F with redundant cooling systems. Our building was originally built in 1915, and served as the Champagne winery for Beaulieu Vineyards. The walls of our cellar were constructed of massive ten-inch thick poured concrete, and today naturally maintain a cave-like climate inside the five separately secured vault rooms.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
A: Access to your wine is coordinated by appointment, 10am to 5pm, 6 days a week. We are closed on Saturdays. A Personal Cellar Assistant can be available during access hours to physically assist in the movement and storage of your "liquid assets."
Q: Can my wines be directly shipped to Rutherford Wine Vault?
A: Inbound shipments from winery mailing lists, wine clubs, rare wine auction houses and full pallets of library wine can be accepted on a daily basis. Wines received will immediately be transferred into a secure locked inbound vault, or directly into the owner's vault, as instructed.
Q: Can I ship my wines from Rutherford Wine Vault?
A: Private Storage Customers can opt to have RWV receive all wine shipments and prepare those wines for reshipment by our third party shipper. This can be accomplished at any time, with direct shipments to your home state or any worldwide location.
Q: Is there space where I can evaluate my wines?
A: Rutherford Wine Vault has a well appointed front area for customers' inventory management and wine portfolio evaluation.
Q: Can RWV certify proper storage of my collection?
A: Wine is an investment. Rutherford Wine Vault can create a Certificate of Professional Storage stating the time period which each bottle of your wine has been stored with us. When you decide to sell your wine, there will be evidence of proper storage that shows the provenance of your wine collection.
Q: Do you offer pallet storage?
A: Library storage is limited to those who are leasing private vaults.
